When it comes to writing an ad, it's important to remember that you only have a few seconds to capture the attention of your audience.

To make sure that your ads stand out and leave an impression on potential customers, here are 5 tips for writing amazing ads:

1. Know who you are talking to

Always start with a clear understanding of your ideal customer.

  • Ask yourself, are you writing to the child or to the person that is buying your products (likely their mom).
  • Are they new to homeschooling or do they have lots of experience?
  • Are they familiar with your type of products, or do they still need to be convinced?

Answering these questions will help you write an ad or post that resonates with them and makes them more likely to buy.

2. Talk about your benefit, not just your features

There is a difference between a list of features and a list of benefits. Features are facts about your product or service. Benefits are the positive way those unique differences and features are going to impact their child's life.

Before they buy, moms want to know how their kids will benefit from what you're offering.

3. Write a great headline

Use the words they are looking for, so they can quickly tell if they need your product. Tell them "what is it" and "why they should care".

4. Add a call to action

A call-to-action is a call for your readers to take an action. It should be one to two sentences telling them what to do and how to do it. Without a call to action, your posts are less likely to make sales.

Add urgency or a deadline

Now that you've captured their attention with a benefit, told them what to do and how to do it, it's time to add some urgency or a deadline. 

  • This can be as simple as: "Expires soon!" or if you don't have a particular deadline or end date, you can just add "now" or "today".

5.Double-check your ad (Don't skip this step!)

Read your post out loud.

This will help you tell if your ad flows well and is easy to understand. You could also read your post to a friend and get their feedback on it as well.

Grammar check your ad
