Did you know that Public Domain Day is on January 1st every year?
This is the day when the copyrights to certain books and movies expire (mostly 70 years after the death of the last known author or creator). These “works” enter the public domain, which means that you and your children can read them for free!
Where can you read public domain books?
Start with Project Gutenberg. This is the oldest digital library online. Most of the books in its collection are the full texts of books in the public domain.
